Location
Tigh Cilmartin is situated in the crofting hamlet of Staffin - an ideal location for exploring the Trotternish Peninsula and its famous geological sights, such as the Quirang, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr.
Staffin is only 15 miles from Portree and 16 miles from the ferry port of Uig - gateway to the Outer Hebrides.

From Inverness
Take the A82 towards Fort William. At Invermoriston, turn right onto the A887 which leads onto the A87 towards Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye. Cross over the Skye Bridge and turn right at the roundabout, onto the A87 towards Broadford, Portree and Uig. It takes approximately 3 hours from Inverness to Portree.
From Fort William
Take the A82 towards Inverness. At Invergarry, turn left onto the A87 towards Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye. Cross over the Skye Bridge and turn right at the roundabout, onto the A87 towards Broadford, Portree and Uig. It takes approximately 3 hours to drive from Fort William to Portree.
From Portree to Staffin
Travel north on the A855 towards Staffin. On entering Staffin, continue until you reach a sign on your left for ‘Columba 1400'. Turn left after this sign, go past the Church and Tigh Cilmartin is at the end of the track. It takes approximately 25 minutes to drive from Portree to Staffin.
Trains operate between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh (nearest train station), where you can get a bus to take you onto the Isle of Skye. Check the national rail website for times & prices. www.nationalrail.co.uk
